Sweetie Pie is a sad story that we hope will have a happy ending. At five weeks old, she came to us from a high-kill shelter where she and her seven brothers and sisters were about to be euthanized. The entire batch -- with the exception of Sweetie, who seems to have an immune system of iron -- all arrived with terrible upper respiratory infections. Days passed, but none of her brothers and sisters got any better; within a couple of weeks, all seven had died. Sweetie, an orphaned and now sibling-less kitten, soldiered on and now, six months later, has become one of the most loving, lively kitties we've ever met. This is a little girl who knows what she wants, and has from the time she first got here. What is that? You! While other kittens roam and play and generally wreak havoc, Sweetie just wants to be by the side of her favorite people.
