Though he may look a little rough around the edges, Cash is quite the gentleman. He came to us from an overcrowded shelter having just had an operation to save his ear, which had been mangled in a fight. When we heard that he was on the euthanasia list and – being a rough-and-tumble guy who was hardly the cutest kitty on the roster – would likely not be adopted, we decided to take this fellow home as a barn cat. However, once we realized what a true love he was, we couldn’t bear the idea of just setting him loose to risk the elements. In fact, Cash was the one who inspired the CIC, and soon came to run the place with true aplomb. He ensures that the kittens get enough to eat, keeps all of the other kitties in line, and even risked his life when one of the Clean Slate dogs snuck into the CIC looking for a mid-afternoon snack! Cash is evidence of the fact that those willing to look beyond the packaging can truly find themselves with an amazing pet. Because we believe the CIC is the ideal situation for Cash – room to roam, the responsibility of his fold, and plenty of pets – he is not available for adoption, but you can help Clean Slate to care for him by sponsoring this rare old boy.
